This story was written for Emcee, both as a birthday gift and as appreciation for all the hard work she puts into the series.
My thoughts on how it turned out can be found in various posts below.
Characters: It's a surprise! Oh, okay, Connor and Salome are in it.
Words: 1507
Rating: R for adult themes and nudity
Summary: Connor comes up with a fun idea. As is, I'm not sure this fits into the timeline. If it did, it would go after episode 8 (Still Life).

Connor had spent the morning watching the World Series of Poker on ESPN2. Usually the idea of watching televised poker was enough to bore him to death, but today he had just wanted to relax and there was nothing else on. Besides, it had given him quite possibly the best idea he'd ever had.
Knowing Jaime and Andrew were going to be out until nightfall, Connor decided to invite Salome over. While awaiting her arrival, Connor debated how to break his idea to her.
For her part, Salome seemed just as thrilled with the idea as Connor was. But he never was never able to read women well, so he didn't get let his ego get too inflated. He didn't lose sight of the fact that she had said yes, however.
Now Connor sat, wondering why he had over dressed in a blue long sleeved button-down shirt with a black T-shirt underneath, green cargo pants, black shoes, and white socks. Oh, he couldn't forget about the white boxer shorts his mother had bought him, although he cursed himself for remembering that part. Salome was sitting across from him in a white tank top, bra straps visible, tight blue jeans, something presumably underneath those, and very sexy black boots.
The chairs they were seated in, taken from the kitchen, were parallel with the bed in Connor's room. While it made playing cards a little more awkward then it had to be, this set-up did provide the best view.
And view was the most important thing, of course, considering that they were about to start a game of strip poker.
"I never pegged you for someone who would initiate something like this," Salome stated as she dealt the first game of 5 Card Draw. "I'm impressed."
"Well, I'm full of surprises."
Salome just smirked at him.
The first winning hand was a Jack-high flush held by the Nyazian. Connor didn't mind starting the festivities. He was starting to get warm, anyway. Wishing they had both worn less clothes, he started to untie his right shoe.
"Aw, I was hoping you wouldn't take the easy way out." Salome pouted.
Connor looked up. "Good things come to those who wait." He wasn't about to let on that he was already losing it.
"We'll see, won't we?" Salome asked happily.
Connor was sure that things were said, hands were played, and clothes were removed. He just couldn't remember these things happening. All he knew was that they were now both barefoot and that his over-shirt was hanging off of his girlfriend's chair. The anticipation was starting to kill him. He was hoping Salome would just decide to jump on top of him right then.
"You okay, Ace? You look a little distracted."
He had to stay cool. "I'm fine, just wondering what you'll be taking off next." He showed his Kings over Aces full house.
Salome didn't bother to show her hand. Connor was in agony as she stood up and slowly unbuttoned, unzipped, and removed her jeans. She made a show of the whole process, which Connor was grateful for despite his impatience. When Salome sat back down, all she had left on were black panties and the two tops.
While Salome started to deal the next hand, Connor did the math in his head. By his count, if everything went as planned, there'd be at most five more hands and then they'd be all over each other. The problem was that he wasn't sure he could wait that long.
As Connor took his cards, he glanced at Salome. He thought she looked about ready to go too. Maybe she was having too much fun with this, or it could be that she was just determined to wait him out, wanting him to make the first move. But his pride was telling him that he came up with the game and that he should see it through to the end. He had trouble understanding why.
Unfortunately for Connor, the inside straight he was hoping for didn't pan out and he lost the hand. He had to remember that he was happy just as long as someone was taking something off. The end result would be the same, after all.
It was time for Connor to bare his chest. Salome gave an appreciative whistle as he peeled out of his black T-shirt. He allowed his ego to inflate a little more.
The next hand came and went, and once again Connor was on the losing end. This time the pants had to go. He made as much of a spectacle out of the event as his girlfriend did when it was her turn.
Now Connor was down to his boxers. It suddenly hit him, one more losing hand and Salome would see him naked for the first time. Was he really ready for that?
When his three 10's came out on top the next time, Connor felt relieved. Not only was he worried about what she would think of him, he wasn't exactly sure what he should do when the game ended. He also thought that it had been way too long since Salome had lost, even though it was only three hands ago. Instead of taking off her shirt like Connor thought she would, Salome reached around her back, buried her hands under her shirt, and unsnapped the bra. With that done, she slipped the strap off of one arm and then the other. Finally, she pulled the bra out from under her shirt. She proceeded to hand it to him. "Here you go," she said.
The whole process had seemed overly complicated, but Connor had never been more turned on in his life. He knew what part of him wanted, at least.
Now things were interesting. One of them was about to see something he or she had never seen before. Connor was having a little trouble concentrating on shuffling the cards.
"Is everything alright. You seem a little nervous, Connor."
"Nope, I'm fine," he replied, but he knew he wasn't hiding anything. It frustrated him that he didn't know how she felt about his nervousness. Wait... did she actually call him Connor? Maybe he did know. He finally dealt the cards.
Neither of their hands were very good, but Connor won with a King high. Salome gave him a wink before grabbing the hem of her top. Connor watched as she pulled it up slowly, first over her breasts then all the way over her head, and finally off of her arms.
Seeing his girlfriend naked from the waist up for the first time just reinforced Connor's belief that she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. He had wished he could say the words, but he was sure the look on his face had said it for him.
Salome let him get a good look before she nonchalantly picked up the cards and started to shuffle. A smile had crept to her face, of relief or satisfaction, Connor couldn't tell.
It was time for the final hand, but finishing the game was just a formality at this point. As it turned out, Connor was the one who lost. He couldn't remember feeling more nervous than he did at this moment, and not just about what he thought was about to happen. He's sure there had to be other moments, but only two possibilities came to the forefront. Maybe the first time Tracy had seen him naked, but that hadn't really happened. His first time with Cordelia he had other things on his mind. And he wasn't sure if he knew well enough to be self-conscious back then.
It seemed to take forever to lower his boxers and then step out of them. As he did, he looked up to see Salome's reaction. Her seemingly impressed look helped to subside his fears. He built of the courage to say, "Well, you won."
"Yeah, I guess I did. But I think the runner-up deserves a prize too."
As she started to move her last bit of clothing, Connor could barely think. All of a sudden his mind turned to a question he'd been curious about for quite a while, 'Do cuffs and collar really match?'
"Sorry, I can't do this."
Connor was back on the living room couch, poker being broadcast through the television. "Huh?"
"I have to run. You'll have to finish these dishes for me."
Turning to the right, Connor caught the sight of Jaime drying his hands with a towel. "Oh, okay. No problem."
Jaime picked up his books and started for the door. "Well, I'm off. Don't worry, I'll be home before things start to go bump in the night."
The only response Jaime received was a slight nod. With that, he left.
Connor blinked a few times, trying to orient himself. He looked back at the television, then in the direction of his bedroom. It was all a daydream, he realized.
After sitting for a few minutes lost in thought, Connor got up and headed towards the phone. He dialed a familiar number and after a few rings the other party answered. "Hey, Sal. Yeah, everything's good. I wanted to know if I could stop by. No reason, I just wanted to see you..."

After a re-read, I think this story is a candidate for a possible overhaul at a later date when/if I'm a better writer. The story in my head is so much better than this. Even if people do like this, it isn't the story I wanted to tell. But I'm too fed up with it to try right now. If I didn't post this I probably would have just deleted the file and forgotten about it though.
I do like the title, however. *bangs head against desk, repeatedly*

Well, even if this ISN'T the story you wanted to tell, I think it's entirely cute. And it's really sweet that you actually took that joke on the main page seriously. I definitely do appreciate the gesture.
I think this worked well. Both Connor and Salome are in character-- even if it is just Connor's wet dream day dream. Poor guy. He can't win, can he?

The only thing I didn't like about this story was the transition between his fantasy and the real world (and no I am not just saying that because of my crush on Salome). It took me a second to realize what had happened. If you decide to rewrite this my suggestion is to fix that part of the story so that it isn't as confusing.

I'm glad you two liked it despite the author's insane ramblings, and I thank you both for your input.
I think a good way to describe how I feel about this would be to compare it to a two-and-a-half-hour movie that was cut down to an hour-thirty. Someone who only saw the short version might think its alright, but for me there's just too much content missing.
That's not a perfect analogy, but it's close enough.
I kind of wanted to disorient the reader there because that's how Connor felt, but really, Connor isn't actually the narrator so I'm not sure it makes sense to do that. And there's probably better ways to go about it anyway. So yeah, I'll definitely keep the suggestion in mind if I do come back to this.
At any rate, I hope my bitching didn't ruin the story for anyone. I think I needed to be mad at something last night. I probably should edit that first post to get rid of the bad first impression.
