Synopsis: Connor is desperate to protect his friends from the horrors of his life. But if he's not honest, he might lose them.
I just don't make it easy for poor Connor. He and Jamie fight, his two female friends are fighting over him and the bad guys seems to be trying to drive him nuts.
Raise your hand if you want to give him a big hug!

Just read the episode, thought it was very good.
I can’t really think of too much to say about it right now though. I am interested to see how much Jamie knows, or probably more appropriately doesn’t know, about his father. And now his father’s interest in Connor makes some sense.
I'm also very curious about what's going on with Wes. But that’s the point, right?
Just wondering, are you planning on having the next episode up Wednesday?

Thank you very much!

I was hoping someone would pick up on Jamie's father's interest in Connor from 1x02.
The next episode will deal directly with what happened in the last one. They were originally a two-parter, but I decided since all of the episodes are interconnected to not list is as a two-parter.
I'm also very curious about what's going on with Wes. But that’s the point, right?
That is the point. It's all mysterious. *g* I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Just wondering, are you planning on having the next episode up Wednesday?
God willing, I will. But it's possible it might be delayed to the Wednesday after next.

There is one thing I just thought of. Connor and the Blacks have been friends for, what, a year and a half? And Connor knows that their dad is paying for the apartment. Connor probably would have wondered what their dad does. Now its not unbelievable that he wouldn’t know, but I guess I’m just surprised Jaime or Jules haven’t told him where their dad works, or at least what he does. And if Connor knows their dad is a lawyer (if that’s what he’s supposed to be), I definitely would expect him to double check to make sure it isn’t Wolfram and Hart he’s working for.
So I guess I was just wondering if this is something you thought of. For all I know this will come up in the story at some point.
*sigh* The problem with talking to the creator is wondering if you’re asking questions you don’t want answers to. But if I were watching this on TV and posting on the TWoP boards or something, I'd be wondering if the writers would explain this and have to bring it up.

Connor is aware James Black II is a lawyer. If you recall, in episode one, they talk about how how Jules is studying to be a lawyer because she's following in his footsteps.
This probably won't come up in the story. It may. If it does, it's not going to be a huge spoiler. Connor only thinks about Wolfram and Hart in terms of Los Angeles. Since James' family is from New York, it never occurred to him that James' father might be working for Wolfram and Hart.
When Connor thinks about demons, etc, he thinks about Los Angeles and Quortoth. He doesn't really consider what's going on in other parts of the world, since his experience is so limited to only there.
*sigh* The problem with talking to the creator is wondering if you’re asking questions you don’t want answers to. But if I were watching this on TV and posting on the TWoP boards or something, I'd be wondering if the writers would explain this and have to bring it up.
Personally, I'm enjoying being able to answer (some) of the questions that come up about the series. Heck, I'm just happy there ARE questions about the series. It means people are interested.

Yeah, that all makes perfect sense. I forgot that Jaime talked to Connor a little about his father in episode 1. It was even in the first act. And also I just checked the character profiles on the site, because I don't actually think I did that before.
And that's why I brought the issue up. I have no reason to not trust that you have everything covered. I figured there would be an explanation, maybe that I missed something, which I did (second time now, actually). I was just a little bit worried that it might be somewhat important and that I didn't want to know yet.
Well, let me know if I start to get too... nosy or something. I'm genuinely interested in the series and would like to talk about it if I think of something to say. But I also don't want to start asking you questions that I can just find the answers to if I wait patiently for the episodes.

Jamie's father being a lawyer for Wolfram and Hart has been in the series since we conceived his character. *preens* I'm so clever with the foreshadowing. *g*

I have no clue what I'm doing. Like... Seriously.

I'm glad you're interested in the series. Don't worry, if you get too nosy I'll just ignore your question. *g*

This episode was abolutly great. I felt sorry for Connor (I just now realized I probably spelled his name wrog in the last few messages) for having to feel like he has to lie, I feel sorry for Jules for being stuck in the middle of Connor and Jamie and the vague feeling of sorrowfulness I feel for Jamie comes from him trying to stay in denial. Again it was a great episode.

Thanks!
This episode was really supposed to make you feel sorry for Connor, Jamie and Jules because they are stuck in these terrible circumstances. I'm glad you were able to pick up on it.

Holy cow! It's getting better and better! Just finished this ep. I've been waiting for Jamie and Jules to find out. And boy did they! Love Jamie's inability to deal. Wasn't it Angel in AtS season one who said that about people not being able to accept the reality? I was worried about Salome for a bit too! And the ending! This is totally as surprising at the end of the first one, and completely unexpected! I'm starting Episode Four right now!
