When Angel was cancelled, I was absolutely devastated. It was one of the best shows on television and there were so many stories left to tell about those characters. For me, the worst part was I never felt they properly resolved the storyline with Connor. Joss Whedon has always been a big supporter of fans telling their own stories, continuing his universe. I felt the need to continue Connor's story.
And thus the Nyazian Prophecies was made. For four years now, I've written about Connor Riley accepting his destiny as the son of Angel, becoming a true hero and finally gaining the family he craved.
Fan fiction is absolutely wonderful. Nothing will ever make me change that position. It's a fantastic way to build writing skills and to further explore characters and situations from a series one loves. But there comes a time when you have to move on. I have reached a point in my life where I wish to stop playing in someone else's sandbox. Rather, I want to create my own.
As most of my fans know for the last year I've been working on my own comic series. It is an incredible drain on my time and resources. But for me, it is worth it. But it leaves little time to work on anything else.
It is with a heavy heart that I announce I will not be continuing the Nyazian Prophecies as a regular series. My own workload has become far too great. When you become passionate about something, there are sacrifices involved and the Nyazian Prophecies is one of the sacrifices.
To everyone who has stayed with the series for the last four years, thank you so much. I would not have continued the series so long if it wasn't for the support of my fans. It has meant so much to me that you were interest in my story.
The Nyazian Prophecies will not just be ending. I am just not continuing it as a regular series. However, I will be releasing a trilogy of virtual movies which will conclude the storyline of the series.
The first of these movies-- "The Ties That Bind"-- will be released soon. It will be followed by "Till Death" and the finale "Full Circle". These three virtual movies will bring the series to the conclusion I always imaged for it and its characters.
It has been an absolute pleasure writing this series and I thank you all again. I hope you enjoy the Nyazian movies and that you will enjoy my comic series.
