I don't know where I got this idea from (and if it isn't all right someone please tell me), but I had the idea of turning the episodes and movies into script form here on the fanfiction forum.

TEASER
FADE IN:
EXT. PALO ALTO - STANFORD UNIVERSITY CAMPUS PATH - NIGHT.
A FRESHMAN GIRL (18) with long, blond hair is wearing a white camisole and blue jeans, looking scared. He stumbles down a concrete path. The path is lined street lights and bushes on each side.
ANGLE ON:
Her shoulder is bleeding.
She trips over her feet, slamming to the ground.
FRESHMAN GIRL (shouts) Help me!
ANGLE ON:
A hand grabs her shoulder.
POV SHOT
A BOY with brown hair styled like Moe of Three Stooges fame stands behind her with a smile. He has a sweet, innocent face and friendly blue eyes. He clutches several books to his wiry and unintimidating form, one of which was The C++ Language
BOY What's wrong? I heard you scream.
The GIRL looks around her, but no one is there.
GIRL There was someone after me. They've been chasing me all the way from the CoHo.
BOY Well, there doesn't seem to be anyone after you now.
GIRL Maybe its because you're here, uh...
CONNOR Connor. Connor Riley.
GIRL Connor. You scared them off. Do you think you could walk me to my sorority house?
CONNOR looks her up and down appreciatively before readjusting his books to his other arm, then frees the hand closest to her so she can hold it.
CONNOR Come on.
GIRL Thanks a lot. I really hate walking alone.
CONNOR What's your name?
STEPHENIE Stephenie.
CONNOR You probably shouldn't be walking at night. You never know what's lurking.
STEPHENIE'S face contorts into that of a vampire.
STEPHENIE Oh, I have a pretty good idea.
STEPHENIE growls and lungs at his throat. CONNOR strikes Stephenie in the nose with his books. A crunching sound is heard while she stumbles backward groaning in pain. CONNOR grabs her wrist before she can fall and snaps it with a twisting motion. STEPHENIE wipes the blood dripping from her nose and hisses softly.
STEPHENIE I'm not much of a fighter.
CONNOR reaches into his jacket and withdraws a wooden stake. He holds it up, smirking.
CONNOR (charging with the stake) Demon's a bad occupation for you then, isn't it?
STEPHENIE growls before leaping up and letting her foot connect hard with Connor's mouth. CONNOR flies backward, tumbling into the bushes.
STEPHENIE Don't like to. Doesn't mean I can't.
CONNOR jumps up.
STEPHENIE How did you-? It was you who was after me.
CONNOR I was actually just coming from the library.
CONNOR balls his fists, leaps through the air and slams into Stephanie. CONNOR lands on his feet while STEPHENIE landed on her back. CONNOR jams the stake into Stephenie's chest. STEPHENIE'S mouth widens in shock as her body explodes into dust.
CONNOR (coughing) But it's nice to know there's another vampire hunter around.
CONNOR tucks his stake into his back pocket, cracks his jaw, feels his bloody lip, picks up his destroyed books and groans.
CONNOR Oh great. Now I'm going to have to pay a fine.

ACT ONE
FADE IN:
INT. STANFORD UNIVERSITY COHO - NIGHT.
CONNOR walks through the doors of the small University's Restaurant and Grill. It was filled with small tables. Students sit with piles of books, food and beverages in front of them. The noise is respectful for those who are studying CONNOR licks the blood off of his lower lip, cracks his neck and sniffs the air. He looks cautiously around the room.
SALOME Chess team get a little rough?
CONNOR turns toward the counter and smiles at a pretty girl named SALOME SIMPSON (20's) next to the cash register who has dyed purple hair, a strange purple tattoo across her breasts; slightly visible because of her low cut blouse; a purple-beaded bracelet on her wrist next to a cross dangling from the same wrist. She smiles brightly at him.
CONNOR What can I say? Those nerds can be really mean when they want to be. So what's up, Sal? You don't normally work this late.
SALOME Ugh. Freddie didn't show up for his shift. I was begged to work a double. Which sucks to the highest degree. It's like they forget I go to school here too. (sighing) You want some coffee?
CONNOR No, ice would be good thought. If I have coffee, I'll be up all night driving Jamie crazy.
SALOME puts ice in a towel. The purple beaded bracelets on her left hand click against the cross dangling from her wrist. She hands the makeshift icepack to Connor.
SALOME I was under the impression you did that anyway.
CONNOR scowls before putting the icepack against his lower lip.
CONNOR So... When do you get off work?"
SALOME Closing.
CUSTOMER # 1 Hey. Can I get a 32 oz. Pepsi.
SALOME Coming right up.
CONNOR watches Salome fill a paper cup with soda and hand it to the customer and ring him up before she turns back to him.
SALOME Why do you ask, Chess Club?
CONNOR I thought we could go out.
SALOME (smiles flirtatiously) Why would you want to go out with me?
CONNOR (smiles back) Would you believe purple is my favorite color?
SALOME slides over to Connor. She leans in close over the counter, her lips a breath from his.
SALOME How many times have you asked me out in the last year?
CONNOR pulls away.
CONNOR Oh... Two hundred... Give or take?"
SALOME Pretty much every time you come in here. Why the persistence?"
CONNOR (a little disappointed) Just making conversation.
SALOME Good to know. As usual, I am much to busy.
CONNOR follows Salome, peeking over her shoulder as she wipes the empty tables off with a dishrag.
CONNOR You must have some time after you're done work and before classes. You know, at night.
SALOME You would be surprised how busy my nights are.
CONNOR'S jerks his head up.
POV SHOT:
A BOY AND GIRL walk from the back of the cafe toward the exit. His arm is slung over her shoulders. They are giggling and whispering to each other.
CONNOR sighs deeply.
CONNOR I know all about busy nights."
CUT TO:
EXT. CONNOR, JAMIE AND JULES'S OFF CAMPUS APARTMENT - NIGHT.
CONNOR is cut up and bruised, but not so much that anyone would say anything about it. The large red lipstick stain on his cheek was more noticeable. He puts his hand on the doorknob, but does not turn it.
CONNOR (whispers) Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. It's harsh, and cruel. But that's why there's us. Champions. It doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done or suffered, or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world was what it should be, to show it what it can be.
CUT TO:
INT. CONNOR, JAMIE, AND JULES'S OFF CAMPUS APARTMENT - NIGHT.
CONNOR opens the door to his apartment.
JAMIE (O.S.) Man, you just keep getting in later and later.
Connor looks up as his roommate, James Black III, comes in from the other room and sprawls out in a chair with his feet up on a desk that his homework is spread across.
CONNOR kicks off his shoes and places his textbooks on the kitchen table before collapsing onto the couch.
CONNOR Just can't seem to stay away from the library.
JAMIE (notices lipstick) And here I thought you had a new chick.
CONNOR (groans) I should be so lucky. I've been by my lonesome as of late."
JAMIE (indicates lipstick mark) That lipstick mark on your face says different.
CONNOR wipes his cheek with his hand, the crimson makeup coming off on his palm and scowls at Jamie.
CONNOR Oh, stop looking so smug. It's not what you think.
JAMIE Don't presume to know what I think. I think that if you were getting some play, you'd be crowing about it so much I'd have to ask you to move out.
CONNOR You're not wrong. Of course, I wouldn't have time to crow about it seeing as how I would die of shock.
JAMIE You'll get a social life before me. At least you're not trapped under a mountain of textbooks.
CONNOR Price you pay for being a big old genius. Us lesser mortals may not be able to assemble a Doomsday Device, but at least we have the possibility of getting laid.
JAMIE The very slim possibly. And you used to spend an awful lot of your time buried in the books. (pause) Oh, before I forget your dad called.
Jamie pulls a Post-It out of his pocket and holds it out to Connor.
CONNOR Really. Is everything--?
ANGLE ON
A transatlantic telephone number.
JAMIE What's with the globetrotting number?
CONNOR He's--Business trip.
JAMIE On the other side of the world?
CONNOR Convention... On the other side of the world."
JAMIE If you're going to call him back, we're so not splitting on the phone bill this month. It's bad enough that I saved your ass from dormitory living this year.
CONNOR Wouldn't think of it.
CONNOR puts the Post-It note on the coffee table.
CONNOR I'm really tired. I think I'm just going to go to bed.
JAMIE Be careful passing by Jules' room.
JAMIE turns on the TV.
CONNOR She's asleep? Usually she's still up studying.
JAMIE (flips through the channels) Oh, she's still up. I just don't think I can stand hearing my sister get fluttery because you're in. You would think she'd get over it already.
CONNOR shook his head and continued to his room. He passed on of the doors, presumably Jamie's sister Jules, quietly. He opened the door to his room and entered.
CUT TO:
INT. DARKENED ROOM/LAIR - NIGHT
A BRITISH STATUESQUE REDHEAD (teens) wearing a black shirt and white pants glides towards A HOODED FIGURE whose face is hidden, though his eyes can still be seen glowing yellow. THE HOODED FIGURE is sitting on a thrown. The room is lit with a few flickering candles surrounding a thrown.
MASTER Clarice.
CLARICE Master.
MASTER Rise.
CLARICE stand up. She morphs into a vampire and growls softly.
CLARICE Stephanie and Christopher were slain tonight. By him. He is killing more of my brethren every day.
MASTER Does this bother you, Clarice?
CLARICE I don't care about those children. They were foolish, hunting in heavily populated areas. But I don't understand why you won't let me kill him.
MASTER You have already earned your place. His death does not concern you.
CLARICE But Master--
MASTER (yells) His death does not concern you! (pause) Whether or not the Destroyer dies is not up to you. I want him alive. I want him to be what he is meant to be, not the pathetic echo. He cannot deny what he is. Everyday he comes close to showing his true nature. His killings of your offspring prove that. I promise you will not go wanting.
CLARICE (snarls) What is our next move, Master?
MASTER rises and places a hand against Clarice's cheek. His thumb caressed her wrinkled forehead.
MASTER The time has come to give our boy a very clear message. He won't be able to resist when something he cares about is in danger.
MASTER pushes down the left shoulder of Clarice's shirt. He presses a hand to her left shoulder and growls.
MASTER I want to hear you say it.
CLARICE I am every faithful...I pledge myself to the Circle...
ANGLE ON:
MASTER pulls his hand away from her left shoulder and the mark of the Circle of the Black Thorn is burned; still glowing red; in her skin.
CUT TO:
EXT. STANFORD UNIVERSITY CAMPUS PATH - DAY.
CONNOR and JAMIE are walking down the path. CONNOR'S arms are empty and JAMIE'S arms are full. CONNOR is staring off into space and JAMIE is talking nonstop.
JAMIE Okay, Mary Jane, and having to keep a secret identity, or Rogue and being able to tell her everything but having a super screwed up relationship?
CONNOR Hm? What were you saying?
JAMIE (sighs) Dude, it's really hard to have a meaningful conversation with you when you're staring off into the ether.
CONNOR Sorry. I got distracted.
JAMIE (nods) I noticed. It's really hard to play 'who would you rather?' by yourself. What were you thinking about so intensely you forgot I existed? (pause) You know, Connor, if you don't mind me saying... (the two of them stop walking) You've been acting like a complete freak lately.
CONNOR glared at Jamie.
CONNOR I think I mind.
JAMIE I don't mean it as an insult. Just concern. We've known each other-- What? A year? We're friends. And you've been acting really strange.
CONNOR What do you mean 'strange'?
JAMIE You come back to at all hours, usually with blood on you. You're always yelling in your sleep, so loudly I hear you down the hall...Just level with me, man... Are you in a gang?
CONNOR (laughs) Oh yeah. I'm in a gang. We're calling ourselves 'skinny geeks who will never get laid or intimidate anyone'. Want to join? Dumb ass.
CONNOR pushes Jamie, but the push was much harder than he anticipated. Jamie's books flew everywhere as he tumbled to the pavement.
CONNOR Dammit! Sorry.
CONNOR pulled Jamie up and helped him collect his books.
JAMIE Guess someones been eating his spinach.
CONNOR I guess I don't know my own strength.
JAMIE Probably a good thing anyway. We were getting kind of close to Movie of the Week territory.
CONNOR nods. JAMIE opens his mouth to say something else, but is interrupted by a woman's voice from behind them.
WOMAN'S VOICE (O.S.) Hey!
The two boys turn and see:
POV SHOT:
A thin blond in glasses named JULES running to catch up to Connor and Jamie. She is grinning broadly, her books clutched to her chest. JAMIE grins as he wraps his arm around his sister's shoulders.
JAMIE Hey there, Jules. How's my favorite little sister doing?
Jules (blushes) I'm lost. You're the first people I've seen for an hour that I recognize. I'm looking for the Crown Library.
JAMIE (rolls his eyes) Jules, it's been a month. You're a law student. You should know this already.
JULES (shrugs) Oops. Connor, do you think you could maybe... Show me?
CONNOR blinked. Me? You want me to show you?
JULES Well, Jamie has books. Looks like he's going to class. Please, Connor?
JAMIE opens his backpack, digs out a map and puts it on top of Jules's books.
JAMIE Here you go. Your very own map. We were having an important conversation.
JULES (scowls) You're a jerk, Jamie.
JULES skulks away with her head down toward the map.
JAMIE And that is the child my dad prefers over me.
CONNOR I think Jules is sweet.
JAMIE Of course you do. She's desperately in love with you.
CONNOR (blushes) What can I say? I can't help my animal magnetism... You should be nicer to her.
JAMIE It just bugs the heck out of me that the little space cadet gets all the attention just because she's trundling along in his footsteps.
CONNOR Come on. You've got class. Show your dad being a genius is just as good as a lawyer.
JAMIE You make it sound so easy, it's not like your dad is a soulless bloodsucking fiend."
CONNOR nearly tripped over his feet.
CONNOR What?
JAMIE Nothing. Bad lawyer joke. You are the height of weird, Riley.
CONNOR Right." So... Uhh... Who was it we'd rather?"
JAMIE Mary Jane and having to keep a secret identity, or Rogue and being able to tell her everything but having a really screwed up relationship?
MALE VOICE (O.S.) Personally, I think the real question is who would rather be: Peter Parker or Remy LeBeau?"
CONNOR and JAMIE stop walking and turn toward the voice who was dressed completely in black, topped with a leather duster. His blond hair was slicked back. He wore mirrored sunglasses over his face. It was a parody of intimidating, like someone out of a Matrix convention. CONNOR raises his eyebrows and JAMIE stares in disbelief.
CONNOR And who are you?
ANDREW Wells. Andrew Wells. And we need to talk.
ANDREW pulls off his sunglasses.

ACT TWO
FADE IN:
CONNOR, JAMIE and ANDREW are still standing on the path. CONNOR and JAMIE are gawking at the ridiculousness of ANDREW looking like a Spike wannabe.
CONNOR Are you talking to me?"
ANDREW Yes, I am. It's about your father.
CONNOR Jamie, don't you have class?
JAMIE Yeah. Starts in ten. (whispers) Listen, I don't like the look of this guy. Makes me nervous. I can skip if you want back up.
CONNOR shakes his head, keeping his eyes on Andrew.
CONNOR Take off. I'll be fine.
JAMIE Watch out. I don't trust that freakazoid.
CONNOR Neither do I.
JAMIE hesitates, before walking away. CONNOR watches him walk until he feels Jamie is a safe distance away and slowly turns on Andrew with a snarl.
CONNOR (menacing) So you know something about my father. I assume you're not talking about Larry Riley.
ANDREW No, of course I am referring to the vampyr--
CONNOR pushes passed Andrew, stalking down the path back toward his dormitory. ANDREW squeaks feebly in protest and runs after him.
CUT TO:
EXT. CONNOR, JAMIE, AND JULES'S OFF CAMPUS APARTMENT - DAY.
CONNOR stops outside his apartment with his hand on the doorknob. He turns to see ANDREW has followed him, but has stopped twenty yards away from him.
CONNOR Are you afraid of me?
ANDREW nods.
ANDREW I have heard many stories about you in preparation for my visit. I am a bit hesitant about saying something you won't like, Destroyer.
At inhuman speed, CONNOR darts forward, grabs Andrew by his shirt collar, throws him against the wall and crushes his sunglasses.
CONNOR Too late. Why are you here?
ANDREW (yells) Angel! I was sent by Angel!
CONNOR (snarls) I don't believe you!
ANDREW (desperate) He was supposed to call you! Tell you what was going on! See? This is what happens when you don't have conference calls.
CONNOR drops Andrew to the ground.
CONNOR He left a message. I haven't called him back yet.
ANDREW Oh, nice move.
ANDREW dusts off his coat. He got back to his feet.
ANDREW Angel said you'd mellowed with those altered memories!
CONNOR (blushes) I'm sorry. Things have been a little tense around here. Come on.
CUT TO:
INT. CONNOR, JAMIE, AND JULES'S OFF CAMPUS APARTMENT - DAY.
CONNOR and ANDREW enter the apartment. CONNOR sits down in the chair Jaime was in the night before and ANDREW examines his broken glasses.
CONNOR Listen, I'm sorry about before. Just... Don't call me the Destroyer. The guy I was with? He knows nothing about this. I'd like to keep it that way.
ANDREW (hesitantly) People usually take it pretty well.
CONNOR I don't want to take any chances, he's letting me live with him and his sister rent-free.
ANDREW So nobody knows about you then?
CONNOR No.
ANDREW I guess that means you have no demon friends.
CONNOR Demons are evil.
ANDREW I've known some demons that were all right. I mean most of them had the disposition of the Incredible Hulk with a wedgie. But there's always one or two OK ones.
CONNOR mumbles a halfhearted agreement.
ANDREW It's all about control. You can concentrate, say the right words and the demon is under your thrall.
CONNOR Sounds like the Jedi Mind Trick.
ANDREW (smiles widely) You are going to be the coolest assignment.
CONNOR Assignment? What assignment?
ANDREW You have so much to learn, little one.
CONNOR Dude. Unless you're jonesing to get the crap beat out of you, I suggest you don't call me 'little one.'
ANDREW So noted.
CONNOR Now, who are you, why are you here and what happened to Angel?"
ANDREW My own personal story of redemption is a long and complicated one. It started when I joined forces with Warren Meers and Jonathan Levinson forming the Evil Trio. Together we planned to take over Sun--
CONNOR Forget that first one.
ANDREW So you would like me to tell you the tale of how Angel and his compatriots escaped the fiery grips of the Wolf, the Ram and the Hart?
CONNOR nods.
CONNOR Yeah. I really would.
ANDREW Three months ago, the vampyr with a soul Angel and his compatriots: the other vampyr with a soul, Spike, former demon goddess Illyria, renegade Watcher Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, the velvet-voiced demon Lorne and street thug with a heart of gold Charles Gunn decided to take on the Circle of the Black Thorn. The Circle of the Black Thorn was the most evil organization in this realm of existence. Angel and his friends were victorious against the inner circle, as you well know.
CONNOR I was there. I fought that big guy in the suit.
ANDREW (finger to his lips) Shhh! I'm not finished! The battle came at a very high price. Wyndam-Pryce was murdered by the demon sorcerer extraordinaire Cyvus Vail--
CONNOR --Vail was the one who gave me my memories.
ANDREW (glares) I was just getting to the good part.
CONNOR Sorry. Go on.
ANDREW Lorne, choosing to become a pacifist, much in the style of those ever-logical beings the Vulcan's, left the group before the final battle could commence. The massacre had angered the malevolent Senior Partners. Now down to four intrepid Champions, one of who was bleeding profusely, they faced against a hellish army: thousands of troops, demons of all sorts. Things looked grim. Unbeknown to his fellow warriors, Angel has contacted his former lover, Buffy the Slayer of the Vampyrs--"
CONNOR --I know my memories are a bit hazy, but isn't it Vampire Slayer?"
ANDREW Realizing her two loves had not fallen to the Dark Side, Buffy abandoned her swarthy new boyfriend to fight by their side. She brought with her an army of Slayers, witches and powerful yet humble Watchers. The forces of darkness were temporarily blindsided, long enough for our heroes to escape. They fled across the globe, to rejoin the stronghold created by Buffy and her friends. Together, they would now face all hardships before them. (pause) Man, I'm hot in this coat. I don't know how Spike does it.
CONNOR stands up and starts pacing the room. On his fourth round, he stops.
CONNOR So you're saying... My father was saved by a bunch of girls and ran for his life.
ANDREW I don't think I am comfortable with that synopsis of the events.
CONNOR sits down.
CONNOR So where is Angel now?
ANDREW Ah, the Senior Partners are still looking for your father and his friends. They have been on the move. While they travel, they look for new Slayers for the Watcher's Council. Last I heard, Angel and his lycanthropic lover were in Cairo.
CONNOR plucks the Post-It off of the coffee table. He stares down at the number. He chews on his lower lip, reading it several times. He picks up the phone and begins to dial.
ANDREW Ask for Geraldo Angel.
CONNOR I can do this mys--Geraldo?
ANDREW (shrugs) He's incognito.
OK. I'll do that. Now can you please... This is kind of a private conversation.
ANDREW looks around the room. He snatched up Jamie's copy of The Dark Knight Returns, flipping through it. He sat down on the couch.
ANDREW Ooh... I haven't read this since my copy was cut in half by the buzz saw.
CONNOR holds the receiver to his ear. He gripped it so tightly he thought it would break in his hand.
ANGEL (O.S.) Hello?
CONNOR (raspy) ....Dad?
ANGEL (O.S.) Connor?
CONNOR Yeah, it's me. I got your message. After a nerd showed up.
ANGEL (laughs O.S.) So Andrew's there, huh? You didn't try to kill him, did you? People have a habit of doing that.
CONNOR Why is he here?
ANGEL (O.S.) Didn't Andrew explain everything to you?
CONNOR He told me how you guys got away from the Senior Partners. Did it really happen the way he said it?
ANGEL (O.S.) Probably... less grandiose. Yes, Buffy and Faith and their Slayers saved us. We wouldn't have made it through if they hadn't shown up.
CONNOR Why couldn't you tell me all of this? You sent someone here. To my school. My roommate saw him. And, well, Andrew isn't exactly inconspicuous. I don't want the entire campus knowing I fight demons.
ANGEL (O.S.) You have been fighting demons. I knew it. I knew you would be fighting again. Andrew didn't tell you everything, did he?
CONNOR I don't know what you're talking about, Angel. Just tell me.
ANGEL (O.S.) The Circle of the Black Thorn is looking for you.
CONNOR I thought you'd killed them.
CONNOR started hyperventilating.
ANGEL (O.S.) We did take them out, but they'll be replaced. The Senior Partners will need an Earthly contingent. The lower beings are all vying for those spots. Willow did a locater spell. A lot of demons are converging in your area. The Senior Partners know you're my son. They know you helped me kill Hamilton. We don't know for sure, but they've probably decided that the first spot goes to whoever can kill you.
CONNOR What am I supposed to do?
ANGEL (O.S.) I'm leaving the choice up to you. I don't want to force you into anything. But I see only three available options.
CONNOR What are they?
ANGEL (O.S.) One, you could come back with Andrew to England. The Watcher's Council will give you protection. Two, I could come to Stanford.
CONNOR (whispers) They'd kill you.
ANGEL (O.S.) There's one last option. Andrew is a Watcher. You know what a Watcher is, right? They teach and guide Slayers. I know you're not a Slayer, but you're special. There's no Slayer in California at the moment, not one that's trained. You could take that position. The council has given us approval. Andrew could stay on as your Watcher, report back to us and give you assistance as needed.
CONNOR moves the receiver away from his ear, lowers it and lets it slip from his fingers. The tension in the phone cord snapped it back. The receiver hits the desk, knocking over a pile of books. ANGEL can be heard through the receiver calling his name.
ANDREW jumps up, dropping the comic, smiling brightly.
ANDREW Hey there! How'd everything go?
CONNOR ignores him as he runs from the room. ANDREW follows at a slower pace.
CUT TO:
INT. STANFORD UNIVERSITY COHO - DAY.
CONNOR and ANDREW enter. ANDREW is out of breath. CONNOR is annoyed.
CONNOR You can go back to England, Andrew. I don't need a Watcher.
ANDREW But Angel entrusted me with this mission! Rupert said it was a great opportunity, seeing as how you're the first human male with abilities supernatural abilities. You are a Slayer, one of the girls in all the world with the strength and skill to kill the vampires.
CONNOR (annoyed) Do I look like a girl?
ANDREW You don't really want me to answer that, do you?
CONNOR (growls) Go away.
ANDREW I memorized the speech for normal Slayers. You're a Boy-slayer. The Boy-slayer.
CONNOR Boy-slayer? Dude, you have got to be kidding. Listen, I'm not interested. I'm doing fine on my own. I haven't died yet.
ANDREW There are dark forces gathering. And they're coming after you, Destroyer.
ANDREW jabs his finger into Connor's chest.
CONNOR I think you better reconsider doing that.
ANDREW crossed his arms over his chest.
ANDREW And I think you're going to ignore this particular problem until it swims up and bites you in the ass!
CONNOR You're completely insane.
ANDREW You have a destiny. Blessed with skills even Slayers don't have. You know you can't avoid fighting forever. You don't have to decide this minute. I'm staying at the Mermaid Inn. Give me a call if you change you mind.
ANDREW turns and walks out of the CoHo with his jacket flowing behind him.
CONNOR lets out a frustrated, strangled groan and rakes his fingers roughly through his hair. He walked over to the cash register where SALOME was counting money.
CONNOR Hey Sal.
SALOME You OK, Chess Club? You and that guy seemed pretty close to throwing down.
CONNOR Yeah. (pause) You want to go out with me?
SALOME Sure. I'm just getting off in...Three...two...now.
CONNOR rubs his temples before following SALOME out of CoHo with a dumbfounded expression on his face. He follow her into
EXT. ALLEY - TWILIGHT.
CONNOR You've just thrown me completely off. I ask you out, you say no... It's our thing. I like our thing. It's fun. It's harmless. Why are you saying yes?
SALOME leans against the alley's brick wall.
SALOME You know, all this time, I never would have pegged you.
CONNOR Pegged me for what? What are you talking about?
SALOME (smirking) Morpheus should be a bit more careful who he talks about 'destiny' in front of.
CONNOR reaches out and grabs Salome's wrist. He tightens his grip around it.
CONNOR How much did you hear?
SALOME struggles uselessly.
SALOME Enough. Connor, let go. No one else heard. I've got really good hearing.
CONNOR How did you understand what we were talking about from across the room?
ANGLE ON:
Connor's fingers slipping beneath Salome's purple bracelet on her wrist. The thin cord holding it together snap, beads scatter across the pavement.
Salome's pale skin darkened, turning purple. Her pupils dilated until they nearly dominated her whole eye.
SALOME You dick! Do you know how hard is it to buy glamor on a cashier's salary?

ACT III
FADE IN:
EXT. ALLEY - TWILIGHT.
CONNOR wound back his fist and rammed it into her nose.
SALOME staggered backwards, blood sliding out of her nostrils and onto her lip.
SALOME Ow! That hurt!
CONNOR crouched down. His body tense, ready to pounce on Salome.
CONNER Of course it hurt, we're fighting.
SALOME sniffled, put a hand to her head.
SALOME I don't want to fight. Rumors are true. Your fist is like a sledgehammer. I think you broke my nose!
CONNOR What are you?
SALOME (Garbled) I'm a college student, dumbass.
CONNOR (Snarling) College students don't look like that.
SALOME They should be so lucky.
SALOME knelt down on the ground, picking up the beads that were scattered.
SALOME Can we please talk like human beings?"
CONNOR You're not a human being!
CONNOR knelt down and began to collect up the beads along with Salome.
SALOME Semantics. Damn. I hope I can fix this before class tomorrow.
SALOME took the beads in her hand, looked down at them, and wrinkled her bloody nose.
SALOME (Cont) Listen, Chess Club--
CONNOR Connor.
SALOME All right-- Connor. I'm not a bad person. I'm the same Salome you've known for a year. Okay, yes, I'm a demon. But only in the most technical sense. I have a soul-- a lot of demon species do, you just don't hear about them because they don't try to bring the Apocalypse. I'm completely intergraded into human society.
CONNOR held out the beads he had collected to Salome. SALOME accepted them with a smile, sliding them into her pocket. SALOME held out a clawed hand to Connor.
SALOME Truce?
CONNOR took her hand and shook it.
ANGLE ON: SALOME'S claws sliding across Connor's flesh.
CONNOR shivers and pulls his hand away.
SALOME Well, now that that's settled...
SALOME balls her fist, slams it into Connor's jaw. CONNOR stumbles back, hand covering his chin.
CONNOR What was that for?
SALOME (Sniffs; cracks knuckles) Payback's a bitch, huh? I don't appreciate racial profiling. Now we're even.
CONNOR nods and rubs his sore flesh.
CONNOR (Deep sigh) All right. Well. I guess I'll see you at the CoHo. Bye.
CONNOR turns on his heels and walks out of the alley. SALOME runs after him.
SALOME Hey! Where are you going? Don't you even want to talk to me? You've asked me out almost every day for a year!
CONNOR turns back, shrugging.
CONNOR That's when I thought you were a nice girl with punkish hair. I mean, no offense. I'm sure as far as demons go, you're one of the better ones. I just know what happens when life is filled with nothing but demons and death. I can't do that again.
SALOME'S eyes soften, and she frowns.
SALOME Are you really the Destroyer, Connor?
CONNOR crosses his arms over his chest.
CONNOR So they tell me.
SALOME bites her lip and steps closer before shaking her head sadly.
SALOME Connor, if you really are the Destroyer-- the guy all of the demons are talking about-- then you don't have a choice.
CONNOR They're talking about me? (Shrugs) It doesn't matter. If they come, they come. I'm not going to go seek them out. I just want my life. I want to go to school, have some sort of social life. I can't do it again.
SALOME (Smiling through fangs) Listen, it's not all that bad. I've been fighting demons and going to school for over two years. It can be done.
CONNOR jerks back, eyes wide.
CONNOR Demon fighting... It was you who was hunting that vampire last night.
SALOME nodded.
SALOME You know, what can I say? I do what I can. I saw her leaving with some guy, so I took a break. Would have gotten her too if I didn't have to work a double shift. I don't want those bloodsuckers snacking on the student body. You know, I'd love to chat all night, but I get the impression you're really not into it. I've should go fix the glamor you so rudely destroyed before class tomorrow. I can't Clark Kent my way through the day as easily as you.
SALOME peeks out of the alley, looking out onto the students crossing the campus. She ducked back in, leaning against the wall.
SALOME Dammit. I knew I should have worked on my teleportation magicks. Purple skin really isn't going to go over well. Just peachy.
CONNOR picks Salome up, heaving her over her shoulder and began to scale a building next to him.
SALOME What are you doing?
CONNOR Like you said, I was the one who rudely destroyed your magic trick. I may as well help you fix it.
CUT TO:
INT. CONNOR'S ROOM - TWILIGHT.
CONNOR opened the door. SALOME followed him into the room. CONNOR shook his head, crossed the room, sat down on his bed, folded his hands, leaned against them while SALOME sat cross-legged in front of him.
CONNOR Jamie has a late class tonight and Jules gets lost a lot. We should be all right for a few hours.
SALOME started stringing her purple beads back together, tongue clenched between her teeth while in concentration.
SALOME Thanks. My roommate was holed up in our room last time I checked. I don't think I'd be able to explain this to her. (Looking around) This is a sweet pad, Ace.
CONNOR So you're a demon who does magic. (Sighing) Great. Just great.
SALOME I'm not an expert or anything. Just some spells to get by. So magic thrills you as much as demons. I guess I really know how to pick 'em. You said you've done this all before. What happened that was so terrible?"
Connor shrugged.
SALOME Hey. Really. It's not that bad. As someone who is resigned to living in the magical world twenty-four-seven. And the parts that are, well... If you ignore it, it doesn't just go away. It gets worse. Yeah, it's fill with demons and death. But if you don't try and fight against it, then the deaths are going to be innocent people instead of demons.
CONNOR Why do you do it? Why do you fight?
SALOME I'm about the vengeance. Can't find the demon I have to kill, so I occupy my time taking other baddies out. At least when I'm not going to classes or working. You know, destiny can be a real bitch. Even if you wanted to ignore it, Connor, people are after you and they won't stop until you're in the ground.
CONNOR How much do you know?
SALOME (Licking lips) You're the Destroyer. Your father is Angel, the vampire with a soul. I had absolutely no idea who you were until today, with that guy. I know that there's a price on your head. (Standing up) And I do mean that quite literally. If a demon brings in your head they get... Well, that part I don't know. I get bits and pieces of information, but most of the fang and fur types don't like me.
CONNOR Being in the Senior Partners' inner circle.
SALOME The Senior Partners? You're talking Wolfram and Hart? If that is the prize, fight with all guns blazing. I'm surprised you haven't been swarmed by demons, Ace. Most of them would give their right horns to have an in with the Senior Partners.
SALOME slid the bracelet onto her wrist, touched her wrist, muttered words in a demonic language, and her skin returned to its pale color.
SALOME (Smiling) You more comfortable talking to me now?
CONNOR Why do you leave your hair purple?
SALOME curls a lock around her fingers.
SALOME What? You don't think it's cool? (Shrugs) Truth is, I like being me, being purple. I wish I could all the time. But I choose to live in the human world, so I have to adapt. I can pretend to be Sally Simpson, normal college student, but at the end of the day... I'm me. It's not something I can pretend isn't there. Believe me, there are times I wish I was human, but... I'm not. I can't deny that. This is an aspect of my true self I can get away with.
CONNOR stands up.
CONNOR It's getting late.
SALOME nodded.
SALOME (Sadly) You're not going to ask me out tomorrow... Are you?
CONNOR (Shaking his head) It's just...
SALOME Don't. I understand. (Sighs) It's too bad. I had a lot of fun flirting with you.
SALOME opens the door, slinking out. SALOME shut it behind her, leaving Connor alone. CONNOR sat back down on the bed and folded his hands, leaning against them.
CUT TO:
INT. STANFORD UNIVERSITY LECTURE HALL - DAY.
JAMIE leaned against his arm, staring down at his notebook. He sat in the back of the lecture hall. PROFESSOR MORRISON stood at the front of the class, droning on and on. Jamie was not listening. He glanced down at his watch. JAMIE jerked out of his half-asleep state when the door of the class burst open. CLARICE strode into the room. She was dressed in black, the clothing cling to her curves. A DOZEN TALL, HULKING MEN (AND A FEW WOMEN) followed behind her. All of them looked like a gang ready to start trouble.
PROFESSOR MORRISON May I help you?
CLARICE (Liking her lips hungrily) I'm sorry.
CLARICE, with super human speed grabbed Professor Morrison's head and twisted it around. PROFESSOR MORRISON'S body dropped to the ground dead.
CLARICE Didn't mean to interrupt.
A GIRL IN THE FRONT ROW screamed.
JAMIE jumped to his feet, eyes wide, panting for breath, looking in horror down at the redheaded ringleader. CLARICE strode up to a small blond woman in her gang. and slid a glowing yellow necklace around her neck.
CLARICE You know what to do.
THE BLOND ran out. CLARICE strode back to the middle of the room and placed her foot on Professor Morrison's chest.
CLARICE Don't let any of them get out.
TEN OF THE REMAINING GANG ran up the aisles, blocking any way for anyone to get to the front of the class and make an escape. JAMIE jumped the chair in front of him, attempting to bypass the stairs. CLARICE spotted him and leap into the air. She landed in front of him and smiled.
CLARICE Trying to go somewhere?
JAMIE I--
CLARICE growled. She slammed her fist upside Jamie's head, knocking him to the ground, unconscious.
CLARICE Don't worry, kid. You get a get out of jail free card this time. You're not part of the message. I just hope the Destroyer gets it.
CUT TO:
EXT. STANFORD UNIVERSITY OVAL - SAME TIME.
Connor strode through the Oval.
A WOMAN'S VOICE (O.S) Hey there, hero.
CONNOR looked up. He started breathing in deep, ragged breaths. He shook his head. CORDELIA smirked at him. She turned, running off. CONNOR pursued, pushing past the STUDENTS milling around. He knocked hard into someone. He turned to see SALOME falling to the ground.
SALOME Connor? What's going on?
CONNOR ignored her and broke into a run once more. He could smell SALOME running behind him.
CONNOR Connor! There's something going on!
CONNOR stopped running and smiled. CORDELIA waved from behind the glass doors of one of the nearby buildings. SALOME panted as she caught up to Connor.
SALOME Connor. We have to talk.
CONNOR shook his head, striding inside.
CONNOR She's here. I saw her.
SALOME It's important!
SALOME grabbed Connor's arm. CONNOR pulled away roughly, throwing the doors open. SALOME followed in behind him into:
INT. STANFORD UNIVERSITY LECTURE HALL - DAY.
SALOME Someone's doing something. I felt it. The only way I could feel it is if--
SALOME ran into Connor's back. CONNOR stood in the doorway of the lecture hall, stunned at the number of dead and unconscious bodies. CORDELIA stood beside CLARICE who dropped A DRAINED STUDENT, licking the blood from her lips.
SALOME --they used really powerful dark magic.
CONNOR glared at Cordelia.
CLARICE Of course it was powerful magic.
CORDELIA gripped the glowing necklace she wore. It snapped away and CORDELIA'S FORM MELTED AWAY, LEAVING A SMALL, BLOND VAMPIRE. CLARICE smirked.
CLARICE Only very powerful magic would fool this boy's senses.
CLARICE strode over to Connor, her fangs stained with blood. CONNOR was still too stunned to move.
CLARICE My name's Clarice, I have a message for you.
CLARICE Leapt into the air, swinging her leg. The steel enforced tip of her boot connected with Connor's jaw. The force of the blow sent him flying backwards. CONNOR slammed hard against the wall. His body wracked with pain as he slid down onto the floor. CLARICE laughed.
CLARICE And I'm going to have lots of fun delivering it.

ACT FOUR
FADE IN:
INT. STANFORD UNIVERSITY LECTURE HALL - DAY.
CONNOR struggled to his feet. He panted, glaring up at Clarice. He crackled his knuckles.
CONNOR Salome? You said you fight demons?
SALOME nodded, glancing around the room.
SALOME Never this many.
CONNOR smashed his fist down into one of the wooden chairs. It splintered into pieces. CONNOR snatched a broken piece of chair and threw it to Salome. SALOME caught it.
CONNOR First time for everything.
CONNOR gripped the piece of the chair in his hand. CLARICE charged.
CONNOR used his legs to propel himself into the air, leaping onto Clarice. CLARICE laughed and threw him off.
CLARICE I'm just here to watch.
CONNOR rolled before flipping back to his feet and kicked one of Clarice's lackeys in the throat. Dust billowed through the air as SALOME plunged her stake into a random vampire's heart. SALOME yelped as THE BLOND VAMPIRE WHO HAD INTIMIDATED CORDELIA leapt on her back, hands wrapping around her throat. In the din of the battle, A FEW REMAINING STUDENTS scampered out the door. CLARICE stood in the doorway, smiling as she let them escape. She kept her eyes locked on Connor. TWO, LARGE, LEATHER-CLAD MALES descended onto Connor. CONNOR leapt into the air, kicking them both in the chest. THEY FLEW BACKWARDS. ONE OF THEM flew into the chair Connor had broke. Debris impaled itself through his chest and he EXPLODED INTO DUST. CONNOR used the opportunity to stalk up to the other male, PLUNGING THE STAKE INTO HIS CHEST. CONNOR whirled around to SALOME, who still struggled with the fake Cordelia. SALOME twisted her wrist back, pressing it to the fake Cordelia's cheek. THE FAKE CORDELIA screamed, letting go. She stumbled backwards, the cross-shaped burn clear on her pale flesh.
CONNOR You had no right,
Connor pinned The Fake Cordelia down, snarling. CONNOR beat his fist into her face as hard as he could.
THE FAKE CORDELIA struggled and cried, unable to get out from under his preternatural grip. None of the gang helped her. CONNOR continued pounding her into oblivion.
CONNOR You evil... Demon... You had no right! To pretend to be her! To play with me!
CONNOR shook her before slamming his balled fist across her face. THE FAKE CORDELIA'S cheek opened in a gaping wound, cut by the jagged wood in his hand.
CONNOR You think you can control me? You think you can make me do what you want? All those terrible things!
SALOME Connor! I need help!
His head snapped up, looking at Salome, who was surrounded by FOUR VAMPIRES. He then looked down at THE BLOND, whose face was almost completely demolished. His gaze drifted to his bloody hands, eyes going wide. He plunged his stake through the blonde's heart. THE FAKE CORDELIA CHASE turned to dust beneath him. CONNOR shook his head, staring down at his hands.
SALOME Connor!
SALOME had morphed into her demon form, dusted one of the vampires and staggering away.
CONNOR I can't do this alone!
Connor stared down at his bloody hands. He was a blur of kicks and punches. Dust filled the air as he took them out one by one. When the dust cleared, he dropped his stake. It clattered on the floor.
CONNOR I'm done.
CONNOR flew backwards with the force of the punch to his jaw and collapsed on the ground.. CLARICE smirked as she flexed her fingers, crackling the knuckles.
CLARICE Not nearly. This is truly pathetic. I came to fight the Destroyer. Not some sad little college student.
CLARICE'S head snapped back to look at SALOME, who was creeping forward with her stake.
CLARICE You know I'd kill you before you had the chance, demon. Keep out of it and you keep breathing.
CLARICE bent down, gripping Connor by the throat. She lifted him up, holding him a foot off the ground.
CLARICE You know you want it, Destroyer. You want to unleash it. Let him out.
CLARICE swung her free arm back, hitting SALOME upside the head as she rushed forward. SALOME crumpled to the ground.
CLARICE I said stay back!
CLARICE slammed her fist into Connor's nose.
CLARICE Your demon sidekick isn't too much help.
CLARICE threw Connor down, bringing her knee up at the same moment. The hard bone connected with his back. He howled in pain.
CLARICE I wonder what Cordelia would say about your little friend?
CONNOR coughed up blood.
CLARICE But then, Cordelia's not thinking much these days. Didn't your Daddy tell you? Your precious Cordy is dead. And she's dead because of you. Because of what you put in her. Is that why you're letting me beat you to death, Destroyer? Feeling guilty? Well, aren't you a sweet boy?
CLARICE'S foot came down again. But it didn't impact. CONNOR'S hand snapped up, grabbing it. He pushed as hard as he could, throwing her backwards. CLARICE rolled and then crouched on the ground. She smirked.
CLARICE Was it something I said?
CONNOR rose to his feet. His face was caked in his own blood.
CONNOR I hate being called that.
CLARICE What? Destroyer?
CONNOR leapt up, flipped, kicking both his feet against Clarice's chest. CLARICE soared across the lecture hall, falling in a heap. CONNOR landed on his feet.
CONNOR No. Sweet boy.
CONNOR You must really want to die tonight.
CLARICE got up and licked her own blood off her lip.
CLARICE No. Just want to make sure you're in the game, Destroyer.
CLARICE muttered a dead language and was surrounded by a red glow before disappearing.
CONNOR More magic. Why do they always have to use magic?
The lecture hall was nothing but carnage. DEAD BODIES and vampire dust littered the room.
SALOME struggled to her feet, wheezing. She clutched the side of her head.
SALOME She was stronger than I'm used to.
CONNOR She's stronger than most. Are you all right?
SALOME took some deep breaths.
SALOME Luckily vampires have no taste for demon blood. Doesn't stop them from trying to break my neck though.
CONNOR (sniffing the air) Someone is still alive in here.
CONNOR ran up the aisle of the lecture hall and stopped dead when he saw the crumpled form of Jamie.
CUT TO:
INT. CONNOR, JAMIE AND JULES' OFF CAMPUS APARTMENT - EARLY EVENING.
JULES sat cross-legged on the couch, books surrounding her. Avril Lavigne was playing loudly over the stereo. She tapped her pen in rhythm. The door opened and CONNOR, A NOW-GLAMORED SALOME and AN UNCONSCIOUS JAMIE backed in. JULES smiled.
JULES Hey Connor! What are you--
JULES smiled faded.
CONNOR Jules, we need your help.
CONNOR carried Jamie across the room, going towards his bedroom. JULES pushed the books off her lap, jumping up. JULES gaze lingered on Salome for a long moment, before following she followed Connor.
JULES What happened?
CONNOR He hit his head.
CONNOR laid Jamie down on his bed.
JULES nodded, eyes wide and knelt down next to Jamie, stroking his hair. She looked up at Connor.
JULES And how does that explain what happened to you?
CONNOR put a hand to his face, still stained with blood.
CONNOR Don't worry. Just had a rough night. Can you take care of him?
JULES nodded frantically.
CONNOR Of course. But...What?
SALOME He should be all right. But someone should stay with him. Looks like he knocked himself pretty hard in the head.
CONNOR shook his head and strode to the door, pushing Salome out of the way. SALOME looked to the still opened door, then back to Jamie and Jules.
SALOME I'm gonna--Sorry.
CONNOR and SALOME ran out, leaving Jules alone with her unconscious brother.
CUT TO:
INT. CONNOR, JAMIE AND JULE S' OFF CAMPUS APARTMENT BATHROOM - MOMENTS LATER.
CONNOR stared at his face in the bathroom mirror. The vampire's hits had left various cuts and bruises all over him. He rested his elbow on the edge of the sink and rested his head in his hands. The door swung open and SALOME strode in. She closed the door, leaning against it. She cocked a brow, staring at CONNOR, who raised his head and looked around before furrowing his eyebrows at her.
CONNOR Do you often walk into occupied bathrooms without knocking?
SALOME I do when I know the guy inside is just brooding and not actually using the facilities.
SALOME maneuvered in beside Connor, turning on the water. She tested it with her hand. She then muttered something under her breath, returning to demon form. CONNOR frowned at her.
CONNOR Why'd you do that?
SALOME The glamor diverts from what little power I have. I'm stronger and I heal faster like this.
SALOME picked up a towel and put it under the water. before ringing it out and placing the damp cloth against Connor's face. SALOME gently began to wipe the blood off of him.
SALOME Your roommate will be fine.
CONNOR "He's lucky. Those vamps were ready to kill everyone there.
SALOME But you stopped them.
CONNOR They stopped themselves because I was there.
SALOME What do you mean?
CONNOR You heard her, didn't you? It was a message for me. When we got there, they stopped feeding. Those people died because of me.
SALOME (Forcing Connor to face her) They died because vampires are evil, not because of you. Sure, maybe those vampires wanted to draw you out, but that doesn't make it your fault. Keep the blame where it belongs.
CONNOR Bad things happen around me.
SALOME Bad things happen everywhere. You just notice them.
SALOME winced and rubbed her neck.
CONNOR Are you all right?
SALOME Sore. (Runs her tongue over her fangs) It's going to take me a few days to recover, especially if I keep on having to use my glamor."
CONNOR I'm sorry.
SALOME (SHRUGS) It's not your fault. Well--Actually, this area-- gestures to her nose) Hurts the most so it is kind of your fault.
CONNOR Maybe you should go back to your dorm. It's probably not a good idea to hang around here in your demon form. Not with Jamie and Jules here.
SALOME You know, people are more accepting than you think.
CONNOR didn't smile back.
SALOME Just how many people have you told about being a demon?
SALOME'S smile faded.
SALOME Um, including you?
SALOME shifted to her human form and gasped, doubling over. CONNOR dropped the cloth and grabbed her.
CONNOR Are sure you're all right?
SALOME Really not as strong like this. But I don't think the deep purple will go over well in public.
CONNOR kept his arm firmly around Salome's waist.
CONNOR Come on. I'll walk you to your dorm.
SALOME You saw me take out a couple of vamps. I'm pretty tough.
CONNOR Yeah, you look very tough at the moment. Come on. While my sense of chivalry holds.
CONNOR led her across the living room. He looked back at Jamie's door, wincing. He wanted to make sure Jamie was okay, but he couldn't be around comatose people. Not after what he saw tonight.
SALOME Who is she?
CONNOR frowned.
CONNOR The vampire? I don't know.
SALOME No. The woman. The one that vampire pretended to be. You were chasing her.
CONNOR couldn't meet Salome's gaze.
CONNOR Someone I knew a lifetime ago.
SALOME You loved her, didn't you?
CONNOR didn't answer.
CUT TO:
EXT. CONNOR, JAMIE, AND JULES' OFF CAMPUS APARTMENT - NIGHT.
Once outside CONNOR lifted his head, smelling the air.
You can transform back. There's no one around. SALOME gasped in relief as she morphed back, panting hard.
SALOME God, that is a real bitch. I can walk by myself now.
CONNOR slowly and gently released her.
SALOME Thanks. For everything. You know, I'm not always that pathetic. I've just never dealt with that many.
CONNOR You've fought for two years here."
SALOME Yeah. I have. Why?
CONNOR How many did you fight?
I didn't keep track. I mean, a vamp here and demon there...
CONNOR How many?
SALOME Three, maybe four a month.
CONNOR And now? How many now?
SALOME Six, seven.... A week.
CONNOR Since school started again. Since the last time I was here.
SALOME Yes.
SALOME Connor?
CONNOR took a deep breath, trying to mask the pain he knew was evident on his face.
CONNOR You didn't do bad.
SALOME (Frowning) Thanks. Are you all right?
CONNOR Yeah. I'll be fine.
CONNOR and SALOME stood in uncomfortable silence for a long moment. Both of them kept diverting their gaze.
SALOME I...Later, Ace.
SALOME began to walk, limping slightly.
SALOME Connor, if you ever need any help...
CONNOR Yeah. I know.
CUT TO:
INT. JAMIE'S ROOM - NIGHT.
CONNOR stood in the doorway of Jamie's room. He leaned against the door frame, watching JULES look down on her brother.
CONNOR Any change?
JULES shrugged, turning to Connor.
JULES I don't really know what I'm supposed to be looking for. Medicine is not my strong suit. You know, if Jamie were awake, I bet he could tell us exactly when he would wake up. He's annoyingly good at being smart. What happened?
CONNOR Gang. I don't know what they wanted, or... It was really weird.
JULES It's really scary... Seeing him like this. I mean I bug him all the time, but I don't know what I would do if anything were too...
CONNOR He'll be fine, I know this kind of thing. He was just knocked out.
JULES Not the best thing that can happen to a guy.
CONNOR Not the worst. Believe me.
JAMIE Ow....
JAMIE touched his head as he sat up. CONNOR jumped to his feet. JULES threw her arms around her brother.
JULES Oh my god! I was so worried!"
JAMIE Give a guy some room, will ya, kid?
JULES Sorry.
CONNOR Are you okay? You hit your head really hard.
Jamie lay back down.
JAMIE That was the weirdest thing I ever saw...What did I see?
CONNOR stepped backwards, inching his way towards the door.
CONNOR ...I'm not sure. I mean, I found you unconscious.
JULES Are you all right, Connor?
CONNOR "I'm fine. It's just been a really weird night."
JULES I'm going to get you some water. (Kissing Connor on the cheek) Thanks for helping him.
JULES leaves the room.
JAMIE Are you sure you don't know what happened?
CONNOR Sorry. I saw some people. I didn't get a good look at them.
JAMIE I think they were on steroids or something. It was... Like you said, weird.
CONNOR Steroids. Yeah. Sounds about right.
JAMIE Connor, can you do me a favor?
CONNOR Yeah. What is it?
Jamie (Flushes) Don't tell anyone I was hit by a girl.
CONNOR No problem.
JAMIE Do you think we'll see those guys again?
CONNOR I have to go. Take care of yourself.
CONNOR strode to the door, clenching his fists. He opened the door, gritting his teeth.
JAMIE (Sitting up) It's nearly midnight. Where are you going?
CONNOR Somewhere I don't want to.
CUT TO:
INT. MERMAID INN HALLWAY - MIDNIGHT.
CONNOR hesitated in front of the door, hand raised to knock. He pulled his hand back, dropping it to his side. He rapped his knuckles against the door. He could hear the movement inside the hotel room. The door opened. ANDREW stood in front of him in plaid pajama pants and an over-sized t-shirt bearing the image of Wolverine.
ANDREW Oh. I wasn't expecting you to come by so soon.
CONNOR pushed past him.
CUT TO:
INT. ANDREW'S HOTEL ROOM - MIDNIGHT.
There was a half-empty pizza box on the bed. Boxes filled with books littered the room. CONNOR kept his back to Andrew, hearing the door click close and ANDREW walking towards him. After a long moment, he looked up.
CONNOR What does a Watcher do?
ANDREW A very good question. A Watcher trains a Slayer, guides them on their mission to fight demons. They provide the information they need to successful slay.
CONNOR I'm not a Slayer.
ANDREW Are you so sure? A Slayer is a human imbued with the powers of a demon to be able to fight the forces of darkness. Maybe there's never been a male Slayer before...But things have been changing a lot lately.
CONNOR looked at his blood-stained hands.
CONNOR Angel told me the demons are here to get me.
ANDREW I was told that.
CONNOR If I were to leave, they'd still be here, wouldn't they?
ANDREW A sleepy little town with lots of tasty college students and no superhero?
CONNOR (Sigh) It's all my fault.
ANDREW If you run away and let them take over, then it's your fault. But if you stay and fight...
ANDREW began to pace the room.
CONNOR No more. No more die because of me.
ANDREW What are you going to do to stop it?
CONNOR I'm not the Destroyer. I can't be him anymore. But I'm not Connor Riley. No matter how much I try to pretend, neither of those people is real anymore. At the end of the day, I'm me. I'm just not sure who that is anymore. Until I figure that out, I need help.
ANDREW (Smiling) You've just taken your first step into a new world.
CUT TO:
INT. DARKENED ROOM/LAIR - NIGHT
CLARICE sauntered into the lair, smiling broadly. She had returned to her human face, blood still clinging to her mouth. HER MASTER'S back was to her as he looked out the window. The hood was pulled off of his head.
MASTER How did it go?
CLARICE ran her thumb over the corner of her mouth, collecting the blood there. She sucked it into her mouth, smiling.
CLARICE It went very well, Master.
CLARICE threw herself into his throne.
CLARICE I think he got the message. He came, with demon help. Not that his friend did much good. He resisted quite a bit. You were right. Cordelia Chase still affects him deeply.
MASTER His false memories can never erase what has already happened. Cordelia, his fathers, his isolation... They are his weakness. I know this better than anyone.
CLARICE He isn't quite there yet. I began to feel the Destroyer, but he still clings to the lies. It will be a time before we can finally bring him out.
Turning slowly, CLARICE'S MASTER faced her. It was Wesley Wyndam-Pryce. He smiled.
WESLEY Well. It's a start.
FADE OUT:
