Burned out from research, Andrew takes a break and joins an all-too-real Role Playing Game on campus while Connor and Salome's relationship takes the next step.

funny ep, i like the Oni/Wes stuff but I was hoping Lorne would come up. New Azriel Theory, he's Salome's brother. Quote: Oni nodded slowly. "Yes." She shrugged. "Demon parties. And it is only for scientific purposes." She then looked down, shamed. "And to possibly meet a nice, non-violent demon. Maybe an Anamovic..." She leaned in to Salome. "You don't happen to have a brother, do you?" Salome's expression darkened. "Not anymore," she hissed back.Though I liked the ending I thought that you shouldn't have parralelled Connor losing memory to Angel losing soul so closely. I half expected Connor to go "Oh Buffy"

After the last ep, I had to give Lorne a break. I couldn't really think of anywhere to fit him in during this one, since it was pretty much a college-based ep. Wes only got in since he's living with our guys.
Salome and Azriel as siblings, huh? Well, it wouldn't be the first time a brother has wanted to kill his sister.
*snerk* I kind of thought someone might say that. Well, at least he didn't stagger out into the rain.

I didn't mind the parallel between Connor and Angel, after all they are father and son. Just as long as the post sex doesn't get parallelled. I want Connor and Salome to stay together. Andrew accepting the relationship suprised me a little bit. I expected he would but I expected a little bit of yelling and fighting first. The best part about this episode was Oni with her can't I stay and watch attitude. It had me rolling on the floor. Not one of the best episodes overall, but I don't know a lot about D & D and am not the hugest Andrew fan either. But other than that a good episode. Can't wait to see the "Innocence" of 'The Nyazian Prophecies.'

The parallels between Connor and Angel will I think give Connor a better understanding of his father. Of course, as my friend Vamps said "Not sure if that's something they'd want to bond over.".
As for Connor and Salome... Well, they've got a pretty deep bond. Of course, so did Buffy and Angel. I guess you'll just have to wait and see.
I thought Andrew protesting it would be too typical of him and not very understanding. With him accepting it right away, it shows that Andrew truly gets Connor and isn't just following Angel's orders.
I was fond of the Oni bits myself. She's really a joy to write.
Glad that even if this wasn't the best, it was still a good episode.
Warning: Next episode is not for the faint of heart. It's quite intense.

Holy shit!
Things are not only going to be complicated during the next episode but also for a while after it, I'd imagine. I mean, I don't know what's actually going to happen, but I'm assuming this expereince isn't going to help Connor feel any better about a different memory loss that may be coming in the near future.
I vaguely recall there being an episode tonight, and I'm sure I liked it, but all I can think of right now is the preview I just read and watched.
Well, now that you mention it, I do remember thinking that too.
Hmmm... I seem to be big on the cursing lately. I know I'm not the only that's done it, but should I stop? I don't know if there's supposed to be a policy or not...

I was wondering if someone would say that about the ep... Pretty much that it was the last scene and the preview that made the ep and that was all. Not that I'm totally surprised. Thought I DID like this episode too, considering it's wedged between Monster Huge Trilogy and Connor As the Destroyer.
Oh, it will definitely affect Connor's feelings.
Not giving you anything definitive, but Salome DID have a whole bunch of siblings.
There's no cursing policy here. Swear away. I've removed all of the censor words except for one that really gets my back up (starts with N and is racially related).

I didn't mean to imply that the only thing that made the episode was the last part. In fact, I think the episode had some good humor (which others touched on) with a nice amount of seriousness mixed in. I was just too excited about the next episode to think about it.
The best thing that happened was that people were talking to each other about things that needed to be talked about. And I'm glad Andrew finally found out the big secret. If he wouldn't have soon, I would have had to find a way to tell him myself.
With some of the teaser I couldn't help but be reminded of a couple things I wrote. And geez, Connor prefers swords to long-ranged weaponry in video games too? Now I'm picturing him avoiding any game where there is magic use like the plague.

Well, thank you. I wasn't sure how well this ep would go over, seeing as it focuses on Andrew a lot.
But yeah, the next episode is REALLY a good one. Actually, if you read my LJ (where I talk about writing the series A LOT), I was constantly bitching about this episode because I really, really wanted to go onto the next one.
Andrew was originally not going to find out in this episode, but in the next one. But I thought hearing it from Jamie would be really funny, and I wanted him and Connor to have a minute of bonding over Andrew's acceptance. I think, inwardly, he feels really bad that Connor felt it had to hide it. And really stupid that he didn't realize that they were together before.
Yes, Connor prefers swords to long-ranged weapons. I thought it would be funny, since the first couple lines of the teaser are definitely set up to look like they're actually fighting a demon instead of playing video games. Another part of it is based on the fact that I hate using long-range weapons in "Chaos Bleeds". I personally think they're really hard to use.
As for games with magic... Well, video games are a different kettle. But it's a safe bet.
I wonder if Connor's real life has affected his fandom life. Like if he's really start to like Blink from X-Men....

As much as I'd like to rag on Andrew for not figuring out the obvious (and I liked when he tried to pretend he knew the whole time), I was doing some back reading and there were like three times that Connor was all but told that the First had made visits to everyone and he didn't pick up on it. So that's something that both teacher and pupil need work on.
When I play video games, whenever I have the option I always want to pick off enemies from as far away as possible. It depends on the game and ease of use of course, and I've never played any of the Buffy games, but I take pride in being able to kill something that didn't even know I was there.
With the magic thing, the game Eternal Darkness came to mind right away. I ended up quickly turning what amused me into a story in case it amused someone else, but I can picture Connor seeing something bad happen to his character when he tries a spell and then thinking that could actually end up happening to magic users.
And I had no idea who Blink was. I had to look her up. I do know some X-Men, but not a whole lot apparently. But yeah, I can see Connor relating to certain characters more now.

I think just about everyone in this series has to work on trust issues to come forward with their secrets. They've also all got little dumbass moments (Just ONCE I would like Salome to be able to figure out something related to the Nyazians right away without having to have it pointed out to her so she says "Dammit, I should have known!")
I'm more of an up-close killer myself. The crossbows in "Chaos Bleeds" are really tough to use and it's my favourite game, so I was making a bit of reference to it.

Is Chaos Bleeds that good? I almost picked it up last year, I just never did. Considering there isn't anything else out there that I'm interested in at the moment, maybe I'll try it out.
I've also decided to admit that going into the episode I was leaning toward Azriel being Salome's Uncle. When I was doing my backreading, something First!Cordy said made me think that. And I still think it's possible.

I think CB is a good game. It's not too easy, but it's not too hard. The graphics are STUNNING (You can see the skeletons of the vamps when they dust). With the exception of Willow, the voices are pretty good, since most of them are the real cast. The enviroments are FLAWLESS. When you're playing the Magic Box or the School, you can actually recognize stuff from the show. Sadly, you NEVER go to the Bronze.
I found it extremely enjoyable. I'm not a coinesseur, but I'm pretty picky about the games I like.
So... What? Do you think that Azriel and Meerna were married?

Alright, cool. Thanks for the impressions.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
I don't know, now remembering their respective ages, that seems a little more likely than Azriel being Salome's brother. But I'm not about rule anything out.
Of course, maybe Azriel is Salome's father and Meerna's brother. That would be a nice parallel to Connor: Salome trying to kill her father. Then there's Jamie with his father... Hey, I'm starting to like this... barring me forgetting existing evidence that clearly disproves that.
Bah! I keep saying this, but I'll say it again: I really need to just let the story reveal itself. Not that I'm going to take my own advice.
