Will she kill Azriel? Why does Azriel want to kill her? What are her powers? Is Connor in love with her? And do cuffs and collars REALLY match.

As of the episode The Vampire Slayer (Episode 9). I made a couple of mistakes of Jamie's thread and only caught one of them which is why thre is two that look the same. Sorry!!!  Solome is a Nyazian Demon. Never guessed that and never would have in a millon years. I always thought throughout the first couple of episodes that it would be a secret throughout the entire series. As for Solome's mom (the guest star on Angel), I can't remember (or find) which episode she is on. I need to know so I can remember who she is please. ;D |

Originally, Salome's species WAS going to be a secret throughout the entire series. It wasn't until I was writing episode four that I decided she would be a Nyazian. It just really made sense. Connor's life is closely tied to the Nyazian Prophecies and there are a lot of reality-altering demons (Sahjhan, Cyvus Vail) that have influenced his life. So it made sense for the Nyazians to be reality-altering demons... And Salome seemed like a great way to bring them in.
Mistress Meerna is actually Salome's AUNT. Salome's mother was killed when Cyvus Vail massacred the Nyazians. She appeared in "A New World" (Angel 3.20) which is the first episode with teenaged Connor in it (other than his brief appearance at the end of "The Price"). She is the one who closed the rift to Quortoth Connor came through.

Quick question: Does Salome know what Connor did to Angel at the end of season 3? I can't remember any of the characters telling her, but I thought I'd ask because my memory sucks.

It's never been brought up. But I think so. Jamie, Andrew and Sal seem to have the cliff note's on Connor's life. She might not know EXACTLY what he did, but she knows he did something to his dad.
We know she knows about Cordelia, Jasmine, how old Connor REALLY is, Quortoth and the memory spell.

I am going to ask this question again for two reasons because I am curious and because the spoilers and speculation page might not get checked (actually I just really want to know). Will Salome be in season two due to the seasone finale.

I was re-reading an ep yesterday and I realized I made a HUGE continuty error. I said Salome have FIVE brothers and sisters in "Sweet Boy", but I said she had four (Kaleb, Kitra, Sivan and Samara) in "Honour and Obey". Oops.

As of TNP S2, I can safely say that Salome is to Connor what Cordy was to Angel: their one true loves. Sure, I don't mind Angel and Nina together, but it's a "next best thing" kind of thing. Please, please, please let there be a somewhat happy outcome to the Salome-Connor pairing.

Salome and Connor's relationship is very unique, I think. Not only did they start out firmly as friends, but they're very much on an equal playing field. I don't think there's ever been a relationship like that in the Buffyverse... So you can expect Sal/Con to be different than any couple we've seen before.
And that's all I'll say.

Salome's behavior in "Cracking Up" raised an interesting issue of the internal struggle between her human and demon sides--or her light and dark sides. I wonder if that internal struggle will play a role in any future episodes because I'm curious to see which side--light or dark--would win out. Esp. since it'll affect Connor, Illyria, and everyone else in Salome's life. P.S. By the way, Emcee, thank you for telling us the correct pronounciation of Salome's name. It does make sense.  |

Sorry to post two times in a row but I just thought of something: what if, instead of it being a choice between light and dark for Salome, it was a choice between being Connor's lover or being Illyria's High Priestess? Meerna's admission to Connor about giving up her demon nature, so to speak, got me thinking about this and I'd love to see how this theme plays out in future episodes.
To explain, the choice between Connor and Illyria could be framed like this: will Salome sacrifice her heritage for her soulmate if it came to that? Very interesting issue and I'd love to hear everyone else's thoughts on this.
