All about Jamie Black.
His friendship with Connor. His wild theories. His inability to accept the paranormal. His Harry Potter-inspired name. His typically Whedon relationship with his father.
Discussion of all things James David Black III.

As of The Vampire Slayer (Episode 9) I like that he is having trouble with the whole supernatural side of things still because on Buffy by the third episode both Xander and Willo were all comfortable with it and I always thought that was wierd.

When it came to coming up with Jamie, I did want to have a "Scully". I found it strange that NO ONE ever had any trouble adjusting to the whole idea of the supernatural. His skepticism will continue thorough the season. He is starting to believe, but I think there will always be an element of disbelief with him.

It makes sense for Oz's character for him to so easily adjust, but it doesn't make sense for ALL character (which, pretty much, they did). I talk a lot about Jamie-the-Unbeliever in my commentary for "Secrets".

Question: does Jamie's mother have one of those clauses in her contract that allows her to be "undead" like Lilah and Holland? Or is she going to be mentioned in some other way?

I'm not sure. I've thought about it, but I don't know... Christine is different than Lilah and Holland in that she was killed BY the partners, so she might be different than they are.

Wouldn't that mean that when Angel's gang dies they'll also be like that too? Or did they sign the contracts? I don't think they signed those particular contracts. As for Jamie's mom, my thoughts would be yes she still does work for them, but that doesn't necessarily mean we will ever see her. She won't necessarily have a job where people who are alive will see her.
