oh again off topic, there was an article in the edmonton sun about the f word and how it's lost it's meaning, being an adjective, a verb, pretty much everything ended with the line "it's a ****ing shame*

Ha!
The f-word will actually appear once again in TNP, in next week's episode.

just how much stronger than a normal slayer is clarice? I've always imagined the vampire strength going directly on top of the slayer strength

I really liked the bad guys from this season. Too bad Clarice was staked by Azriel, though. It would have been nice to see one of the good guys take out a vampire Vampire Slayer. Maybe in a future season? The Vails were definitely powerful opponents. But that made their destruction all the more satisfying. Seriously, I like the idea of the TNP gang taking on a vampire Vampire Slayer and winning. And there's no shortage of Slayers in the world now so...

Honestly, Clarice was good competition for Connor physically but the fact that Azriel was able to stake her so easily just shows how stupid she was. Of course, I have no problem with how she met her end; it just underscored the idea that she wasn't the brightest light to fall into darkness. As for Cyvus and Azriel, I thought it was fitting for Connor and Salome, respectively, to bring about their end. Cyvus created Connor's false memories and Azriel betrayed Salome and left her alive to get revenge on him. So it was fitting for Conor to kill Cyvus and Salome to kill Azriel.

Clarice died just as she was really getting interesting. The idea of her feeling a kinship with him intruiged me, as well as her wish to sire him. Looks like she might be returning in some capacity in season two though, at least in the premier, so we'll see what happens. Incidentally I'm greatly impressed with this whole series. Well done.

After looking through the Season one episodes, I have to say Clarice and Azriel were definitely two of the most interesting villains that Emcee had created. The idea of a Vampire Slayer who gets sired--by the Order of Aurelius, on top of that--made for very interesting stories. Too bad she didn't stick around for a while longer. Azriel, as a character, became much more interesting in the episode Honour and Obey when the fact that he was married to Salome came to light. Salome killing Azriel in the end was very satisfying in that she's finally free of Azriel's hold on her. Cyvus Vail wasn't as interesting until the episode To Be when he says that the world is made up of lies and that his lies are the best. That line illustrates that Vail is the undisputed master of illusions. All in all, Cyvus, Azriel, and Clarice were all superb villains. Several thumbs up! ;D
