While doing the Evil/Wrong Things of Buffy Characters thread I got to 'Seeing Red.'
The bathroom scene in this episode is hard to watch. I have an opinion about it and it is an odd opinion even to me.
Spike is no doubt to blame for a lot of what happened however I also believe that if Buffy hadn't have been using him in the first place his demon wouldn't have been angry in the first place (even if no one noticed it was angry, it was). I also blame the four Scooby Gang Members (Willow, Xander, Anya and Tara; especially Willow) who had pulled Buffy out of Heaven in the first place thus making Buffy use Spike.
This is my opinion. I would personally like to hear what other people think about the situation.

in that case it would be merrick for telling her she's a slayer or even the tribel-men for making the slayer, or the old ones whose violent nature needed the making of a slayer in the first place, or the big bang that created everything in existance

I was personally getting at the fact that the reason Buffy feels the way she does is because she got pulled out of heaven. She treating Spike the way she is because she got pulled out of heaven. And the four Scoobies pulled her out. Going back as far as Xandrew did is like comparing Christmas to drywall.

'Making Buffy use Spike'? Um I can understand her using him because of how she was feeling and everything but the idea that her friends bringing her back to them made her do bad things removes personal responsibilty.
Thats like someone saying my parents got divorced I'm in a really bad way emotionally so its not my fault if I act out...it is. Angel was right about the world being harsh and cruel and theres not much we can do about it, all we can control is ourselves and our behaviour.
I don't blame the Scoobies in the least for any of it. If my friends thought I was in hell and pulled me out, even if I had been in heaven I'd be grateful that they went to such lengths to try to save me.
