you know i was just thinking about that what with andrew's "betty and veronica" comment. which was hilarious by the way, with him all "must make sure relationships are haelthy" and connor totally clueless.
as far as rooting for one or the other? it's really hard tp say. I mean they're both so different and which ever one connor eventually goes far (if he goes for either) will be a strong testement to what kind of relationships he's prone too. I mean okay, we know he likes older women 9not an issue here unless he gets w hankering for clarice which would be just YUCK! besides, vampire not likely to happen) and he's got a taste for the dangerous side from his crush on Faith and the Cordy thing. but neither one are really dangerous.
Okay salome likes to appear dangerous, and she's goth and very sexy, but she doesn't FEEL dangerous when you read her. she's not a sexual predator like Faith, and sure no doubt she's dangerous when you push her into a corner. but even with her mystery's and sexy gothness, she's seem like a very gentle soul. someone who's very careful with the people they love.
And Jules, well she's just sweetness personified. Damn I really felt for her when connor called her kid (he doesn't usually I noticed), and that I think may make her bitter if not angry, always being seen as the kid when really she's no younger then the rest. and salomes comment of her becoming dangerous once shes gets her backbone, yeah. just character wise it'll be facsinating to see wher she goes, but relationship wise I don't know. I see her as being very inexperianced with love, and a little unsure about it but still ready to plunge in head first. I don't think however she would ever make the first move. Connor has already made it clear he thinks nothing of her crush so if anything happened he would have to give her a signal. once she had an okay sign I think she'd take it and run. but I also think that if it did happen it would be strangly long lasting. I think jules takes love very seriously. and we know connor does to. I think she would bring things out in him that most people are apt to overlook, or consider less important in lue of his destroyerness. like his brains and love of books and college. she'd remind him that yes, there are demons and evils, but there is also Dostoevsky to read.
I guess. right now I don't see either relationship happening any time soon. If they did, then there would have to be a series of circomstances, given that connor isn't predisposed to either of them. But I think character wise, if he did have a relationship with jules, it would last longer and be emotionally stronger than one with Salome. Maybe I'm just rooting for the underdog here, but it's more unexpected than a relationship with salome. I think that would be short and sweet. And it seems to me that when something (like romance with someone) is unexpected it has a stronger base o wich to build itself.
because when you intentionally seek your object of affection, and consciously choose them, you make your choice based on... well first impressions isn't quiet the right phrase... um, shallow perceptions? I don't know, but take the lasting relationship we've seen on Buffy. Angel and Cordy, had more in common than either one first thought, they complimented each other in ways nobody would've anticpated when they first met. and while he "seemed" to fit so well with Buffy, their relationship only held up under epic circumstances, they just didn't (or maybe couldn't) do the every day things that brought him and Cordy so close.
uh, yeah... I'll stop rambling now.

As of the episode The Vampire Slayer (Episode 9) I love the relationship of Connor and Solom. Please, please PLEASE don't ruin that relationship.
As for any other future relationships I think that Jamie could easily just be the single guy the way Giles was on Buffy maybe a small short relationship every once and a while.
The only other relationship possibilities (as of right now) that I think would work is Oni and Lorne (I was going to say Clem earlier but he thinks tight skin is gross).

I personally love the relationship between Connor and Salome. I am a shameless shipper. I'm not saying it's going to be EASY for them (it's the Buffyverse, of course), but they do have a connection.
Fre and I have discussed the idea of Oni/Lorne, but we think Oni would see him as more of a father figure. For the moment, Connor and Salome are going to be the only relationship, but in the future... Who knows.

I've so far added the two most popular ships-- Ace over Queen and Connor/Jules (which is yet unnamed). If there is another ship you support, just declare it and I'll add it to the manifest.

I'm thinking the name for Connor/Jules should symbolize the fact that it never had a chance to get off the ground. “Lost Potential” or something. I dunno.

TNP is, like it's predecessors BtVS and AtS, all about BYOS: Bring Your Own Subtext. That means, if you feel shippiness about any pairing... Then there's some shippiness.
